Weekend Respite

It’s been a while since I last took a selfie. I’m feeling a lot better now compared to over the weekend. In my reading corner was where I nursed a cold, a book, a tiny cup of turkish coffee, and a realization of how much I have it good.

Dripping snot and hacking cough well and truly considered.

(It wasn’t COVID, no. Thank God. The same two words I mentally uttered after each of the three daily Rapid Antigen Tests I took came out negative.)

I DIY-ed the West Germany floor vase Jeff’s mom gave me. The one that also moonlights as my Christmas tree stand. Pinching some of Raven’s blu-tack and sticking it onto the vase’s lip, I attached a glass platter I rarely use and voila! I made myself a side table.

Something I can’t help but be proud of.

Indeed, necessity is the mother of invention and laziness is its close cousin. All because I was getting annoyed at having to keep reaching for my cup of tea/coffee on the top bookshelf.

    1. I am. Thanks, Janet. I’m at the age where I now give myself permission to give my body enough time to heal at its own pace. No pressure. The perks of getting old-er, hey?

How are you? Hope you’re doing good in your side of the world. 🙂
