about the pauses…

Right down to the core, if I really think about it, I write for myself.

I have been blogging for a really long time now but I never really considered myself a blogger. I still kind of don’t. I cringe at the mention of the word in reference to me, for some reason.

Because it sounds so… out there. You know what I mean?

And I’m, well, I’m just here. Doing my own thing. Writing about random events in my life that I want to go back and read about 50 years from now when I can hardly remember my name anymore. Scroll down then-ancient photos of my heydays and laugh over whatever funny stories I churned out here once in a while when my funny bones were not as brittle.

Or better yet, on my lucid days, I’d smile knowing I lived a pretty good life. In spite and despite of.

This blog is, and always will be, evolving. Just as the characters I “feature” in here do.

As a matter of fact, I just became a first-time mom to a wonderful girl so chances are, a lot of my posts will be about my (in)experiences about that. I’m currently at that phase in my life — adulting. Is that what they call it these days?

I don’t know what’s gonna happen next because, you know, life. But if you follow me on my journey, I’ll make sure you get first dibs.

pause /pôz/

noun: a temporary stop in action or speech.

Because, sometimes, the best moments in life happen when you take the time to stop.

Catch your breath with me.

=)

  1. Just starting to poke around your blog, but I like you already for reasons large and small: your thoughts on writing for yourself and posterity, and … let’s really get down to business here, your Bric’s bag! I write for myself, too, so someday I can go back and relive my adventures; if someone else enjoys it or gets something out of it, all the better, but I’m not too obsessed with how many people are reading me. (And I feel really lucky that many of my readers seem to be people I think I’d like outside of the ether). As for the bag, I’ve been dragging around a Bric’s bag for decades (seriously), and it still looks great! Thanks for checking out my blog.

    1. no worries. your blog is awesome! all those places you’ve been to and getting to write about them all makes me wanna hop on a plane right now to somewhere warm and exotic. like my home country. because, you know, my sense of adventure is just as awesome. lol.

i noticed that you haven’t been to the philippines — yet. i sure hope to read about it once you find yourself there. as a developing country, it’s not perfect but the beaches are! =D

and, yeah, ditto on not caring too much about whether or not people are actually reading my blog, although it’s also nice when people say they enjoy reading it. i’m just as happy as i am now as when i only had one friend as my follower. lol.

      cheers!

  2. Hi there, thanks for stopping by on my blog earlier. Yours looks quite interesting, too, so I am going to hit the “follow” button and hope you will do the same. 🙂

  3. Hi from PH gurl 🙂 I haven’t been blogging much lately so I am always surprised when there is some traction. Hehe Anyways, I love what you wrote here. It feels so me. If my family ever visits Melbourne, can we do a #playdate? hehe
