Christmas Eve

Last day of work and I was ready to go home before I even left home at 07:15 in the morning. Make it 7:19, as I always seem to cut my commute to my workplace a little too close to my starting time. I mean, heaven forbid if I ever have to make a quick stop to let a kangaroo cross the road, I’m gonna be late by two minutes.

Or dead, if the said kangaroo decides to turn around and kick my car. I drive a Suzuki Alto, for crying out loud! Every time I see a bite-sized car, I’d go, Wow, that’s a ridiculously tiny car. Only to realize that it’s exactly the same model as mine. Far out.

Anyway… That was a wrap yesterday as far as work is concerned. We get one week of break before we do it all over again in 2022.

On a personal note, my family was invited to have dinner at Mae’s, Jeff’s family friend who sort of adopted him when he was homeless and who now “adopts” us as a family once in a while for family celebrations such as Christmas or New Year.

And truth be to told, hanging out with them last night felt like family. No dramas. Just shots of whiskey and breezy conversations with bellies full of food and hearts full of joy. At least that’s what it felt like to me, and because of that I was so grateful for their generosity. I wish their family happiness and abundance for all the years to come.

Geez. Bring out the violin, love!
