A Wonderful Wednesday

It was one of those mornings where we all woke up with sunshine in our eyes and through our windows. A beautiful Wednesday that started bright and early.

There was hugs and laughter and selfies.

There was the smell of Jeff’s pancakes wafting through the kitchen. Strawberries and ice cream on top.

There was Raven getting ready for school.

Jeff didn’t have to go to work until 11:30am so after dropping Raven off at school, we had time for our regular breakfast date at our usual cafe where Shani, the barista/owner, greets us by our first names.

I look forward to these dates with him. I really do. It’s a good way to catch up and shoot the breeze over coffee and hash browns and whatever breakfast he feels like having on top of the one he already had earlier at home.

He talked about Artificial Intelligence and the current state of the technology world. I wondered about the first foragers of mushroom and how some of them died from unknowingly eating the poisonous ones while a few were lucky enough to escape death but just got high instead.

That’s how our brains and our conversations work. Sparks fly. We get electrocuted, either from the sheer brilliance of our thoughts, or from the interestingly philosophical vapidity of it.

Shani makes great flat white, though.

And the whole day I was obsessed with this gorgeous shirt dress I thrifted the week before. So much I felt it needed a little photoshoot just to give it the credit it deserved.

If I were as confident as those women who regularly post photos and videos of their daily outfits, I would probably do it too. This was my shy attempt at doing so.

To make the day even more interesting, I had my haircut with Lito Manandic which was more like a photo and videoshoot than what my appointment actually called for. We probably spent more time filming than cutting and I enjoyed every minute of it!

I only came in for a trim so there’s not really much difference in my hair. An observation promptly noted and addressed by Raven when I picked her up at school later.

And there I was so excited to tell her about it.
