I was awarded “Team Player.” Something I did not expect at all considering how awarding people was never really a company thing until our CEO announced it out of the blue during our Christmas party last December.
I would’ve listened to her explanation more on why I deserved the recognition if I wasn’t busy being too awkward with everyone’s attention but there I was, totally zoned out the entire time not knowing what to say (except for the awkward thank you) or what to think or how to even freakin’ act!
Seriously.

But anyway, I reckon it’s pretty self-explanatory. I mean, if work was a basketball game, I guess I’m that one player who dribbles the ball around before passing it to everyone else. There was no mention of taking aim and going for the shot.
I’m being funny without the Moscato. Another attempt at hiding my awkwardness but deep down inside, I’m thankful. It’s a good team and I genuinely like my boss and my colleagues. I consider myself very lucky to be part of it.
Even luckier to come home at the end of the night to the people I love most in the world.
Who also happens to be the reason why I have to work.
