New Year’s Eve

Starting the year off with a little too much vodka shots may not exactly be the most zen way to kick off a new beginning but let’s just say it makes for a pretty effective hard reset.

I slept the countdown off.

I thought I’d be up at midnight journaling on my new Hobonichi Techo notebook. The one I bought on a whim straight from Japan which cost me an arm and a leg but the reviews were raving so I figured, why not?

Anyway, that image of me with a pen and paper on hand — a vision of peace and serenity — never happened. Sometimes you just gotta roll with life, I suppose. That’s how you learn. Or get to have fun, at least. Let your hair down. Dance as if it’s just you there on the patio, bursting smoke bubbles as you see them.

I had a good time.

Although the morning after was a different story.

P.S. I think I want a cauldron outdoor heater now. It brings out the fire in my eyes and a glow to my skin that makes for a stunning selfie.
