he said the vegetable burger patty was surprisingly not oily but overall, his food was cold and he wasn’t happy about that at all. i reckon after that discovery in williamstown, no other restaurant can hold a candle to madame k’s. as a matter of fact, we’re having dinner there tomorrow, at their fitzroy branch. too bad his excitement didn’t rub off on me when he announced his plan this afternoon. i was hoping to score some pho. or that hainanese chicken with noodle soup. real chicken.
anyhow, i ordered moroccan lamb. and because i don’t exactly have very high standards when it comes to food so long as it’s edible, i say it was actually okay. i’d give it maybe 3 out of 5 stars.
i also ordered grilled fish with rice and steamed veggies for the baby. bland, but a very healthy meal. a very healthy $12 meal she completely ignored in favor of jeff’s cholesterol-laden chips which she kept pointing at and then shoving in her mouth before demanding another piece again. and again. and again.
if she had it her way, she would’ve ordered a bottle of beer or wine too. she studied the beverages menu with a look of deliberate contemplation.
all in all, the groove train restaurant in burwood was alright. so-so. and by that, i mean there’s a 99% chance we’re not going back there again because for the price, it was pretty blah.
just like this post.
