i’m officially a hooker!

i finally finished my very first crochet baby blanket!!!

sorry for getting ecstatic over something some people might find “uncool” but i don’t care. geek is my middle name.

but, omigod, I LOVE CROCHETING! yep, and while i’m at it, might as well caps lock that shit.

i was thinking of selling this blanket on etsy so i can sustain my crochet addiction because yarns are fucking expensive, i kid you not. or it could be that i’m a yarn snob too but, whatever. the way i see it, if i’m gonna spend a lot of time creating something special with my own two hands (at the expense of my wrist), i might as well invest in quality yarns that would last through a dozen kids. you know what i mean?

and for the record, no, i don’t have any plans of having a dozen kids.

it’s a really nice blanket. and that’s coming from somebody who can be very shy about her work but i, myself, love it. it’s 100% australian cotton so it’s pretty soft. and by that i mean it’s both pretty and soft. i’m even thinking of making another one exactly like it to sell because while my etsy shop is pretty much good to go and the only thing i need to do next is to post a listing, the thing is, i have nothing more to sell.

jeff bought it. said that it being my very first handmade piece, raven should have it. to which, i agreed. because, really, who can refuse $200? nevermind that it’s in the form of a prepaid credit card and that prepaid credit card was a cash back promotion from a camera he purchased last december so it wasn’t like he shelled out actual money for it. in this case, the end definitely justifies the means. i’m not fussy.

either way, MORE YARNS FOR ME!

i have no idea how the etsy thing will go but fingers crossed i would at least make a sale that wouldn’t involve jeff secretly buying my stuff so as not to hurt my feelings. because if worse comes to worst and i’ll keep doing what i’m doing, i would be left with no other choice but to crochet a blanket for our house.

p.s. if you’re into crocheting yourself and you wanna do that same blanket i did, you can get the pattern here. i didn’t exactly follow it to a T as i liked my stitches a bit tighter and a 6mm hook was just too loose for a 4-ply. (wow, i sounded like a pro!) but go check her blog out. it’s very easy to do too. definitely something a beginner can do.

i mean, look at me.

  1. Raven looks like she’s loving it too – that’s the best endorsement you can get 🙂 I just hope your etsy sales covers enough to keep Raven wrapped up in fine wool!

    1. i always try to see the glass as half full. i thought about it and if my shop doesn’t work out, let’s just say my grandchildren and great-grandchildren will have enough blankets to keep even their next generations warm! lol. =p
