who could resist doing a jumpshot inside angkor wat? not us. so there we were again making up for the lack of sunrise pictures. like i said, it’s a humongous temple. and like i keep saying, these pictures don’t do much justice to its grandeur.
there are temples within temples in angkor wat. it’s like one building after another. all the time i kept thinking about those poor elephants, slaving their skin and muscles away for my pleasure thousands of years later.
the dancing ladies, called apsaras, are very common sculptures in the temples. they were gorgeous women who danced in the court to entertain the gods and the kings. and when i say gorgeous, i mean well-endOwed.
look closer. they’re not all that pretty. but one thing does stand out — their breasts! i hate that they remind me of the insecurities i tried to leave at home. lol.
i love this picture. i love the architectural design and the eye for detail which they closely worked on. (poor elephants…)
and these steps sure are steep! (although there is a temple with much more steeper steps than the ones in angkor wat.) just trying to climb up is a rock-climbing exercise all by itself. i wonder how the monks and the little ninjas climbed up or down the stairs when they were in a hurry…
here are some of our vanity shots. and that’s me holding on to the steps lest i come falling down. i sure as hell wasn’t kidding about the steep part!
