if heaven is a moment in time, this would be it.

it’s 4:45 in the morning. in 45 minutes, the sun would rise in all its glory — yellow and orange rays peeking on the distant horizon, yawning as it awakens. the water is still and quiet, dreaming in its sleep. the waves are in no hurry to rush to the shore.

i look out the window only to realize that i’m not in cebu, whose sunrises are as familiar to me as the soft beating of my heart. it wouldn’t be until another 3 hours or so before she wakes up in that part of the globe that never stops calling my name.
